Adult and College Programs

The Museum offers hands-on workshops for adults that provide in-depth instruction with guest artists and creative inspiration for artists of all skill levels. The Museum serves up a full slate of great happenings the Third Thursday of every month.


On Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings, free docent-led tours engage visitors in an inclusive, welcoming and friendly manner.

Lecture Series

The Museum offers a wide range of lectures, guided tours, gallery talks, concerts, readings, performances and symposia throughout the year. New lectures and programs are being created all the time. Visit our Calendar to see the latest offerings.

Distinguished Lecturer Series: These are special presentations by artists, authors, curators and arts professionals. These lectures and presentations highlight an exhibit, a specific artist or genre related to the collection or special exhibition.

Panel Discussions: These presentations feature artists, curators, educators and art critics in a moderated group discussion related to a specific exhibit or art-related topic.


The Allentown Art Museum offers academic-year and summer internship programs for college students. Internships are geared toward students entering their junior and senior years as well as graduate students. Special consideration is given to qualified first- and second-year students.
